To kick off the season, Calvia is hosting a food show which will take place in different zones all over the municipality every Friday until the end of April. There will be a total of 54 restaurants offering sample menus consisting of 3 courses and a drink for very attractive prices. Try traditional Majorcan cuisine, gourmet burgers or sizzling chargrilled meat and savour every moment of your holiday to Majorca.
Friday 6th April: Santa Ponsa.
For those who want to delve into Majorcan culture we suggest heading to Sherezade which will be offering freshly-made delicious paella for starter, fillets of beef with herb-flavoured potato and tomato Provencal for the main course and Banoffee pie for dessert. This meal is sure to keep you full all day long and comes to only €16.
How about tasting the world’s flavours at Méson del Mar? Their sample menu perfectly combines French, Italian, Greek, Spanish and Indian specialties. The first course will consist of Cannelloni filled with chicken and foie gras, truffle and sweet potato purée, warm salad of Tandoori chicken and quinoa with tzatziki followed by “Senyoret” paella (no bones or shells) and finally comes the dessert: chocolate and coffee mousse with white chocolate foam and walnuts. This sampling menu comes to €16.
If you fancy a big fat juicy American-style burger then we recommend heading to Attitude and Aptitude. As a starter you will enjoy Nachos with mozzarella, pico de gallo and guacamole, the main is a delicious American Black Angus beef burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, BBQ sauce & fries and as for the main you can enjoy rich Banoffee pie. Altogether this sampling menu is priced at €14.
Friday 27th: Palmanova
With the miles upon miles of grazing land in Majorca, the island affords the best quality in locally-sourced meat. This is what you will find on the samplying menu of Restaurante Brisas. Try its special fried squid with seafood for starter, succulent slow-cooked Majorcan shoulder of lamb confit and cardinal cake from the Majorcan village of Lloseta. Team this with the drink of your choice (glass of Spanish Rioja wine, draught beer, water or a soft drink) for only €16.
You will discover other Majorcan specialities at Restaurante Tábú with a special fish and seafood stew for starter, roasted suckling Majorcan pig with famous Sa Pobla potatoes and Lloseta cardinal cake. Here you can have the same drink options as the abovementioned restaurant. This sampling menu is also only €16.
Friday 27th: Magaluf
Taking place on the same day as the fair in Palmanova, Magaluf promises just as many delicious options. Visit the Restaurante Polideportivo de Magaluf and try hearty seafood stew for starter, beef tournedo with Pedro Ximénez wine for the main and mango pannacotta with vanilla icecream for dessert. Drink choices are between water and house wine.
Another mouthwatering option is Restaurante Las Palmeras which will serve homemade traditional coca bread topped with escalivada vegetables and and goat’s cheese for starter, homemade duck confit ravioli for the main and homemade coffee pannacotta for dessert, accompanied by either a glass of Rioja wine, draught beer, water or a soft drinks, according to your preference. This set menu costs €16.
