Here at Gran Isla Hotels, we want each and every one of you to fully enjoy the serenity of this natural Mediterranean landscape at our favourite time of day. Discover some of the best spots to watch the sunset in Majorca.
- Cap de Formentor
Cap de Formentor is the pinnacle of Majorca’s natural beauty. The mountainous landscape, that takes up the Northeastern section of the island, boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Mediterranean and Majorca, as well as a unique scenery that makes this sunset spot particularly special.
Despite being practically the other side of the island from our Gran Isla Hotels, there’s still plenty of reasons to travel over to this beauty spot. A wealth of charming towns can be found along the way and the Playa de Formentor and Formentor Lighthouse are great places to visit during a family day out.
For a spot with incredible panoramic views in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountain Range, the Torre del Verger located just a mile outside of the charming town of Banyalbufar provides just that.
Not only can you enjoy the gorgeous colours as the sun sinks into the Mediterranean Sea, this spot allows you to admire the incredible rocky coastline that can be found in the northwest of the island, embellished by a wealth of pines and forestry.
The TIB bus line 200 goes all the way from the centre of Palma to the tower if you don’t have access to a car.
- Santa Ponsa
The home of three of our Gran Isla Hotels is also one of the best places to watch the sun go down on the island. Santa Ponsa beach is a west-facing sandy oasis that boasts a large bay where a plethora of charming local sailboats tend to moor in the crystal clear waters.
When enjoying a stay at our Pirates Village, Jutlandia Family Resort or Plazamar Serenity Resort, why not pack a Mediterranean style picnic and enjoy an extended day down at the beach, whilst you watch the sun lower into the ocean or over the impressive cliffs to the north of the beach with all the family.
- Sa Fordadada
Yet another stunning mountainous location that brings you closer to the beautiful nature whilst surrounded by the pine forests and rocky Tramuntana coastline. This location is diverse in the fact that it features a 2000 ft ridge that emerges from the coast to offer some of the best views of the Mediterranean Sea.
If you would like to enjoy a romantic evening with your partner, then this could well be the perfect sunset location for you. Dine in style along the Northern coast of Majorca at the Restaurante Sa Foradada which specialises in local cuisine, whilst you marvel over the warm tones of a sunset in Spain.
- Sant Elm
The small town of the west coast of Majorca exudes beauty in every corner. The mysterious yet gorgeous island of Sa Dragonera is located just off the shore and provides an incredible backdrop as the sun sets after another charismatic day in the Mediterranean.
A short 27-minute drive from our Hotels in Santa Ponsa, along the west coast of the island makes it one of the more accessible top places to watch the sunset in Majorca.
A free and beautiful activity to enjoy during your family holidays in Santa Ponsa and Palmanova, as well as a great way to discover the natural beauty of the gorgeous island of Majorca. A great sunset can really add so much to a getaway. It can be the cover photo that sums up all of the great moments you have enjoyed together. The first image you think of when you remember your time on the island. Take some time to admire the beautiful scenery, you won’t regret it!
