Want to find out if a holiday to Palmanova is the right choice for you? If you want to enjoy clean, fine, golden-sand beaches; a range of exciting water sports and fantastic nightlife, then, why yes, it certainly is the right destination for you. Read on and we will give you our honest opinion on this lively resort…
Enjoy the vibrant and lively atmosphere. Palmanova is one of the earliest developed resorts on the island meaning it’s already well-established as having one of the best atmospheres. Many Brits and Irish people head to the shores, bars and restaurants to enjoy a lively holiday due to its close proximity to Magaluf. Palmanova is quite the opposite to Santa Ponsa, wherein the atmosphere is a lot quieter and calmer even with its wide selection of bars and restaurants to visit. Given this, you have to decide what kind of atmosphere you want to enjoy whilst on holiday: a lively and vibrant one or a calmer and more collected one. Palmanova may be better for families with older children (from 7 and upwards) or teenagers that you can take out and enjoy quality time with in the evenings. Our personal recommendation is to decide on which atmosphere you would like to enjoy before you book. Keep in mind though that even though it is livelier than Santa Ponsa, it is still relatively relaxed. Also, our Tropico Playa Hotel offers a fun-packed family atmosphere with a wide choice of entertainment meaning you can enjoy yourselves without having to leave the hotel if you don’t wish to.
Closer to the airport. Palmanova boasts a superb location only approximately 20 minutes by bus from Palma city centre (numbers 104, 105,106,107) and around 45mins on a transfer bus from the airport. This means that this is the one of the closest family holiday spots to the airport which will save you a lot of hassle and “are we there yet’s” from the children as well as save you from fruitlessly spending money on taxis that could be spent on a day out at Katmandu Park in Magaluf, for example.
Within walking distance to Magaluf’s family days out. Following on from above, there are many opportunities for family days out located in Palmanova’s neighbouring town, Magaluf. This resort is notorious for its party reputation and so that’s why some people are surprised that it also has its other side to it: for families. Such are: the abovementioned Katmandu Theme Park that includes: climbing frame, splash park, soft play, 4D experience, wild west shootout, zombies dark ride… amongst others. And then there’s the Western Water Park (one of the best on the island) and Karting Magaluf to play with the competitive nature of your children. As you can see here, this resort is gradually becoming more family-orientated (as enforced by the local community) so you can have plenty of family fun during your stay there.
Palmanova beach is one of the cleanest. This golden-sand beach is one of the cleanest in Calvia given that it is cleaned every night without fail. See the beach for yourself in the Tropico Playa Hotel photo gallery, whereby our resort boasts a privileged location in this marvellous corner of Calvia. The water is also crystal-clear with shallow parts so you don’t have to worry about the safety of your children whilst they are playing. There are also a lot of shops, restaurants, beach cafés and bars for whenever you want to enjoy a snack or a typical cocktail. Take a short stroll to the neighbouring Magaluf beach to enjoy a range of watersports like parasailing, paddle boarding, diving, water skiing…
Overall, it has to be said that Palmanova is one of the top destinations for family holidays. If you decide on this resort, you will be close to great days out and nightlife but also far away enough to avoid or have a break from it. It all depends on what you want from your holiday. Nevertheless, our Tropico Playa Hotel has all the facilities (2 separate pools, games room, mini golf, international buffet…), services (luggage room, 24 hour reception, late check out, car rental…) and range of entertainment (kids club, shows, quizzes, karaoke…) you need to enjoy an unforgettable holiday basking in the Mediterranean weather…
